Working at Station Chêne Rouge
Station Chêne Rouge is more than just a workplace. It’s a country club in the hills above North Hatley where every day is spent in the forest, with a close-knit team that cares for its guests just as much as its colleagues.
We’re looking for people who love the outdoors, have an eye for detail, and want to be part of something bigger than just a single season. Here, you’ll learn the hospitality trade in a unique setting—at the top of a mountain, in a setting that most people only get to see on vacation.
Our mission: to offer a premium nature experience where every guest feels welcomed as a member of a club, not as a campground customer. We’re building this together, one step at a time, guided by four core values—respect, integrity, humility, and excellence.
If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, keep reading. We'll explain how we work here.
Our 4 Core Pillars
– Respect
– Integrity
– Humility and
– Excellence.
These are the foundations of everything we do here.
Respect. That’s our foundation. Respect for yourself, your colleagues, our guests, and nature. Without it, everything else falls apart. It’s what keeps us united.
Integrity. Acting with honesty, especially when no one is watching.Integrity is our moral compass. Our standard is five-star—when in doubt, we discuss it together.
Humility. It is the strength to say, “I don’t know” or “I made a mistake.”Humility is the openness needed to learn our craft and accept that every task is noble.
Excellence. It’s not just a cold, hard goal.Excellence is the culmination of our respect, our integrity, and our humility. It’s what our guests experience at the summit.
Our 11 golden rules for your success at Station Chêne Rouge
1. Look ahead. Leave the past behind and charge toward the future. It belongs to those who dare to innovate. Every season is a new chance to surpass yourself.
2. Be honest right away. Always tell the truth. We want to hear the bad news as soon as possible so we can deal with it together, without judgment.
3. Integrity above all else. If you have any doubts about a decision or action, ask. We never compromise on our ethics.
4. Be a builder. Don’t just be a doer. Learn the outdoor lodging business as a whole, not just your immediate task.
5. Everyone pitches in. Here, there are no “small tasks.” Keeping the site clean and ensuring a high-quality experience is everyone’s responsibility, from the president to the staff.
6. Professionalism. Be exemplary in your conduct, communication, and follow-up with our guests. Trust is built through the little things.
7. Active listening. Listen to our guests. They almost always provide the key to improving their own experience and our success.
8. The win-win mindset. Always strive for balance and mutual benefit among colleagues and with our local partners.
9. Look out for one another. Information should flow freely. A team that shares its knowledge is a winning team.
10. Keep smiling. Don't take yourself too seriously. We're lucky to be working at the top of a mountain, in a unique setting.
11. Fun is essential. Have fun. If we don’t enjoy creating memories for our guests, it’s not worth it.
